Fountains

Heinrich went on an adventure to a small town named Dudeldorf. In the center of the village was a little plaza (platz) with a statue and small fountain with water coming out of a lion's head. The streets are pretty small in the German villages and the houses come right up to the road. They don't have any front yards and the houses are right next to each other. It pretty fun to explore some of these quaint little German towns.

Heinrich found another fountain in Trier. This one had a horse statue and was part of a huge sundial in a small platz. The horse was on one of the hour markers and the other markers had a dog, an eagle, and some other animals that Heinrich didn't recognize.

When Heinrich went to Himmerod Abbey he found an old stone fountain in front of the abbey church. It was a kind of warm day and Heinrich forgot his water in the car. He thought a drink from the fountain would be a good idea but the water in fountains isn't always clean. He was lucky this time and didn't get sick.
