Brandenburg Gate part 2

The name of the square is called Pariser Platz to commemorate the defeat of France by Germany in the 1880s.

As Heinrich wandered around the square he noticed an interesting building. It had a flag flying that he thought he recognized.

When Heinrich looked closer he realized that the building was the French Embassy. He thought it was strange that France would choose to locate its embassy in Germany on a square that celebrates one of its worst historic defeats.

Across the square, Heinrich noted another impressive building. When he walked over he saw the inscription on the side of the wall. It read the Embassy of the United States of America.

Heinrich enjoyed having his picture taken in front of the Embassy. A US Embassy is considered to be the property of the United States even though its in another country. Its always nice to know that a part of America can be found in almost every country in the world.
