Airport Christmas

Heinrich traveled through Schipol Airport in Amsterdam on his way back to Germany. In the airport there is an interactive science display. They have optical demonstrations and games to play. There is also a plasma ball that has blue sparks that tickle your hand. Heinrich liked watching the sparks dance over the inside of the ball.

Since Amsterdam is in Holland, Heinrich wasn't surprised to find shops that sold very nice wooden shoes. This shoe tree was full of wooden shoes.

It was Christmas time and there were also lots of seasonal decorations. The airport has several different types of trees. Heinrich found a couple of very conventional tress. They were pretty and just like the ones in America.

America also found a tree next to a chocolate shop. The tree had big Christmas ornaments that looked like chocolate balls. In the shop next to the tree were some big chocolate schneeballen, chocolate snowballs.

Heinrich also found a huge Christmas tree. There were a lot of pretty angels on the Christmas tree. And at the very top wasn't a star or another angel. On top of this tree in Amsterdam is a big windmill.

Heinrich found a huge Christmas Throne. It was probably Sankt Nikolas' chair but since no one else was there Heinrich went ahead and climbed up in the seat.

Sitting up in that throne Heinrich felt like the King for the Day. It was fun to start the Christmas season in such festive set of Christmas decorations.
